Buying new listings,
without buying the top.
Screenshots of new coins tripling in minutes attract beginners, but a spike followed by a long slide is more common. Here is where to find listings, how to place orders at launch, and five traps.
Where are OKX listings announced?
- In the app: the announcements center, under new listings.
- On the web: the announcements section of the OKX help center.
- What to read: listing time, trading pairs, deposit opening time and any special trading rules.
Only trust official announcements. “Insider listing tips” and “early allocation” offers in chat groups are scams.
Why do new listings spike and dump?
Order books are thin at launch, so small orders move price a lot, and early holders from airdrops, sales and funds often sell fast.
| Approach | Result |
|---|---|
| Market-buy the first second | Often fills near the top with big slippage |
| Rest a low limit order | Fills only at a price you accept |
| Wait for volatility to settle | Miss the first move, take far less risk |

Circulating supply and token unlocks
New tokens often launch with a small float while team, investor and ecosystem allocations unlock over time. Compare circulating market cap with fully diluted valuation, and check the unlock schedule for the next few months.
Spotting fake same-name tokens
- On the exchange, pairs are listed by OKX, which avoids fakes.
- On-chain, copy the contract address only from the project site, official accounts or exchange announcements.
- Ignore unknown tokens that appear in your wallet.
Can new tokens be delisted?
Yes. Exchanges review tokens regularly. Delistings are announced with deadlines to stop trading and withdraw, so holders must sell or move funds in time.
New listings
FAQ.
01Where do I see OKX new listings?
In the app’s announcements center or the announcements section of the OKX help center.
02Can I place orders before launch?
It depends on the token; the listing announcement states any pre-launch or special rules.
03Why do new tokens drop after listing?
Early holders sell and liquidity is thin, so prices often spike then fade.
04Is Jumpstart worth it?
Jumpstart allocations follow event rules with thresholds and lockups; returns are uncertain. Read the rules first.
05How do I avoid fake tokens?
Buy listed pairs on the exchange, or verify the official contract address on-chain.
06Does the code apply to new listings?
Yes. Accounts opened with OK66688 get 20% off spot fees on new tokens too.
